Terms and Conditions for Hire of Brayford Belle
- A non-refundable deposit, amount to be advised at time of booking, is payable within 14 days of a booking being made.
- Balance of monies due must be paid by either cash on the date of hire, or by cheque at least 21 days prior to date of hire. Cheques should be made payable to Lincoln Boat Trips. We do not have facilities for payment by card.
- Cancellation: should the hire be cancelled by the hirer less than 28 days in advance of the hire, payment in full shall be required.
- Late arrival: It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure prompt arrival of all guests. The hire commences from the time as booked by the hirer and the hire will finish at the time as booked by the hirer, regardless of late arrival, and no refund will be given.
- The maximum number of Passengers we are allowed to carry on a Private Charter is 60; however, for safety and comfort we recommend a maximum of 35-40 people. No single sexed group permitted apart from Hen parties.
- If the hirer requests a canal side stop adjacent to one of the public inns, Lincoln Boat Trips cannot be held responsible for any incidents occurring once a passenger has safely disembarked from the vessel.
- Lincoln Boat Trips reserve the right to refuse access to anyone who is, or appears to be, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or anyone they consider may cause a public nuisance.
- The hirer is responsible for the behaviour of their guests at all times and Lincoln Boat Trips reserve the right to stop and remove from the vessel, and contact the Police if necessary, any person whom the Crew consider to be behaving in a manner which puts the safety of the vessel, its Crew, or other passengers at risk. Safety Warnings and any instructions given by any member of the Crew must be followed at all times.
- Lincoln Boat Trips reserve the right to cancel any Hires should the prevailing weather conditions make sailing hazardous.
- Lincoln Boat Trips do not permit drinks to be brought on board, including drinks from other Licensed Establishments; we are licensed premises. Drinks purchased from the bar on the boat must be consumed on, and must not be taken off the boat. Only bottles of champagne/wine for purposes of a toast or welcome drink, there will be a corkage charge of £5.00 per bottle for wine and £7 per bottle for champagne brought aboard the vessel.
- Lincoln Boat Trips reserve the right to refuse to serve alcohol to anyone who appears to be under the age of 18. Proof of age will be requested if necessary. Acceptable documents for proof of age, as required by Lincolnshire Police Force, are: Portman prove it card, citizen Card, Photo driving licence.
- For safety reasons, only plastic cups for drinks are allowed on the vessel. Passengers are requested not to bring any glasses onto the vessel at any time.
- Lincoln Boat Trips advise that sensible footwear should be worn for safety purposes, stiletto heels are not recommended.
- Noise Levels: To minimise public nuisance, Lincoln Boat Trips are not allowed to play any live or recorded music in residential areas up to and including the Brayford Pool after 2230 hours. Noise levels must be kept to an acceptable level in residential areas up to and including the Brayford Pool after 2100 hours. In line with this requirement, from 2130 hours, all passengers will be requested to move into the saloon area of the vessel.
- Damage or Loss: Hirers are liable for loss or damage to the vessel or equipments caused by persons in the party and will be charged for at a cost price. The organiser of the party is invited to inspect the vessel prior to embarkation
- If the hirer wishes to bring their own buffet aboard, a surcharge of £15 will be required to cover the cost of table covers, disposal of litter and cleaning after hires.
- A No smoking policy operates on our vessel. However, there is an open lower rear deck for smoking.
